Hi! I'm the tumblr-lurker who asked you a question a few days ago. (Actually we were friends on LJ but I don't use it anymore and I've been too lazy to start an account anywhere else haha. So I promise this is not as creepy as it seems? Maybe?)

I hope you don't mind me picking your brain again but I really like your theories and I've never really had the opportunity to discuss these things before!

(Also please excuse me if I sound dumb because I haven't played this game in ages, so I'm working off half-memories here.)

So I started thinking about this when you commented on Lulu volunteering to become a fayth. The implication is that the fayth in the temples are sort of trapped, right? And they want Tidus to end their dreaming so they can rest, etc etc.

But then guardians who become a fayth for the final aeon are sort of one-time-use, aren't they? They defeat Sin, then become Sin, and hang out as Sin for a little while, and then they're (presumably) defeated and the cycle starts over again. And I know the implication is that it's supposed to be a Huge Sacrifice for one of them to give their soul up for battle, but if they're defeated as Sin, isn't there soul released at that point? So it sounds like it's ultimately a less drastic sacrifice than the other fayth made.

Or maybe it's just that being Sin is so yucky and gross and depressing that Yevon thought it'd be way too crappy to keep their souls forever.

I, um, thought I had a question here but I don't really, haha. I just think it's interesting that certain fayth have their souls kind of locked in this weird dreamy jeopardy forever, while (in theory) fayth who become Sin are able to move on eventually. Or maybe they don't move on? I dunno. I've never really thought about it before now.

So...yeah. That really didn't go anywhere.

I'm really enjoying this though!! I'm always super excited when I see you've posted more. (And I also love that you're being very Lulu-centric about things because I've always felt she was overlooked.)
